The Engineering Department of Chiredzi Rural District Council is responsible for planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining the district's physical infrastructure. Our team of qualified engineers and technicians works tirelessly to improve living standards through the development of roads, bridges, water systems, and public buildings.

Core Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Development:

•  Design and construction of roads, bridges, and drainage systems
•  Water supply and sanitation projects
•  Public building construction (clinics, schools, council offices)

Maintenance Services:

•  Routine maintenance of council infrastructure
•  Emergency repairs after natural disasters
•  Road grading and rehabilitation

Technical Services:

•  Provision of technical advice to the council
•  Development control and building inspections
•  Project supervision and quality control

Current Projects

The Engineering Department is currently undertaking several key projects across the district:

•  Rehabilitation of the Chiredzi-Mbizi gravel road
•  Construction of 5 new boreholes in Ward 12
•  Upgrading of Malipati Clinic infrastructure
•  Construction of classroom blocks at Tshovani Secondary School
